Life Church Staff
Chad Clardie // Lead Pastor
I have been in ministry for 14 years. I am a photographer, musician, writer, communicator, the family cook, and a sci-fi fan. More importantly, I am a pastor, a husband, a father of 3, a Christian, a servant, and a broken worshiper. I am learning to love the journey and care less about the destination. I am striving to live a simple life; trading what I am tempted to consider necessities and comforts, to be a part of God’s radical plan to love and save the world.
I have learned to walk with God who gives me enough light for the next step on the path. I tried to chart my own course and ended up a lost, sick, almost dead addict, without hope. Today, I just want to follow God and help others to do the same. I invite you to join me. I promise it will be an exciting adventure.
Jason Day // Associate Pastor
Hey Y’all, I am Jason Day and I am the Worship Pastor here at Life Church. I lead the worship team 11:15 Watertown Site service. I come from a long line of musician's; so I have music in my blood. I enjoy many things like Vinyl Records, Sushi and my iPhone but NOTHING is more exciting to me then to be in a group of people (big or small) that is really worshiping God with total abandon. I strive to love God and Love People above all else. God is continually shaping me into the man He wants me to be and I am slowly learning to just enjoy the ride.
We as a family have been at Life Church several years now and before that we were Worship Pastoring in Southern California. My Wife (Kim) and I have two crazy boys (Dylan and Owen) who keep us on our toes. I am thankful for the blessed life we lead and for my Saviour; Jesus Christ, who deserves all glory and honor and praise.
Grace Govenettio // Associate Pastor
I was 10 years old when I first accepted God‘s saving grace in the person of Jesus Christ. I am answering God’s call on my life today in being a pastor to God’s people, a wife to my Husband, and a Mom to three teenagers. I am learning that it is in my obedience to my Father in Heaven that I am able to really know God, who he is and what he is about. This allows me to recognize God’s working in people and circumstances when I see it and follow his lead in it.
Even as a young person, God’s work in me and my life was nothing short of a miracle, yet I still tried to make my own way in the world. I followed my own natural inclinations to their natural ends, losing myself in the process. When I finally did reach the end of myself, there waiting for me was God. While our journey together has not been easy or comfortable, this Christian life most certainly is a Great Adventure, one I would be thrilled to share with YOU. ☺
Michelle Matteson // Youth Pastor
Hey, I’m Michelle and I’m the new youth pastor, though I’m definitely not new around here. I am thrilled to be able to spend my time hanging out with our teenagers. I try to live my life loving and serving God and I hope to model and communicate what authentic faith looks like to the younger generation. I’m so excited about helping our kids find their identity in Christ and discover the unique mix of talents, gifts and passions he’s given them.
I also teach 7th graders at Indian River Middle School; I’ve been at it for 9 years! I love having a job that keeps me immersed in youth culture AND lets me have a schedule where I can be available to our teens. In fact, I was teaching when I met Micah: my husband, best friend and co-conspirator in youth ministry. We both loving spending time outdoors, learning about God from his creation and admiring his creativity. As if serving God isn’t enough of an adventure, I can often be found whitewater rafting down the Black River or playing in my kayak. (The parallels between rafting and faith are endless……..)
Terri Ward // Secretary & Children's Ministries
I became a Christian when I was 29 years old. I am a wife and mom of 2 college age girls. I am also a singer and quilter, direct our children’s ministry team and serve as the church secretary. One of my long-time passions is lyrical dance and I love to watch that type of physical expression of God’s love. I also enjoy watching God’s little signs of love through the beautiful outdoors and often find a great peace there. I have just recently been struck by the absoluteness…the bigness of God and how incredible it is that he loves me the way he does.
I am so grateful that Jesus Christ saved me from a dark and desolate life. And although I have walked through some very deep waters, even as a Christian, God has never left me, and he has never forsaken me. Always by my side in one way or another, he not only rescued me, but blessed me beyond the help that I needed.
I am humbled that even though I have so much more to learn and am so imperfect, he continues to work on me every day to become the woman of God that I am intended to be. My prayer is that his light continues to grow inside of me- that it would be a beacon to those he places in my path – and that through his continued guidance and grace – those people would come to know the incredible love of Jesus Christ.
